Error when trying to create a form

    1. I don’t like, that WPForms doesn’t show in the WP frame (with the menu bar on the left). Whenever you add (or try to add) a new form, the WP-menu is gone. The only way to return to your admin interface is browser back.

    2. I wasn’t able to create a single form. It always shows “Something went wrong while applying the template.” when selecting a template.

    I turned on debug mode. Deleted and re-installed WPForms plugin: Same behaviour, not a single log message in debug.log file.

    After a while I achieved to get the plugin working, by using 3W Total Cache plugin’s “purge all caches” before and after installing/activating the WPForms plugin.

    As you already noticed, it’s not possible to display the WordPress dashboard while you are inside our Form Builder. I’ve made a note of the feature request and we’ll keep it on our radar to be reviewed as we plan out our roadmap for the future.

    As per the issue you’ve experienced while trying to insert one of our templates, I’m glad to hear that you were already able to sort it out on your own.
    Caching/Optimization plugins can cause diverse kinds of issues, as they minify/combine/defer JS and/or CSS files in order to optimize the loading time and performance of your site.
    Since you’ve mentioned that it got fixed after purging W3 Total Cache, I recommend you to exclude WPForms JS from being minified by it.
    You can do that by going to your WordPress dashboard > W3 Total Cache > Performance > Minify, and scroll to the JS box to check if the JS minify settings have been enabled. In the Advanced section, exclude WPForms assets from minification by going to the Never minify the following JS files: wp-content/plugins/wpforms-lite/assets/js/wpforms.js.
