When attempting to update Simple 301 Redirects from version 1.07 WordPress gives the following error: “Update failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.”

We are hosted by AWS which sounds like it could be the reason for the permissions error. If so, I’m wondering what filepath we need to change access to. Is there any chance we could see the portion of code that this pertains to so we can identify how to alter permissions to update the plugin? Or otherwise instructions on how to tweak file permissions so we can update the plugin?

    Hi @fastquestions,

We are really sorry to hear that. It seems like a file permission issue from your server. You can ask your host to resolve this issue.

In the meantime, you can delete the installed version (v1.07) and upload the latest version (v2.0.4) manually or using an FTP client. You won’t lose any previous data, don’t worry.

    Thank you!
