    Hi Tobias and everyone else,
I have been using TablePress for a few weeks configuring it and setting everything up, but I did want to try making my process more streamlined. I have spreadsheets set up on Google Sheets and want to have Tablepress read the CSV file straight from there when importing to my website. The problem is every time I publish the spreadsheet on Google Sheets as a CSV so that Tablepress can see them, they are parsed with some sort of editing interface or Google-related text. I’ll attach a screenshot as an example of what it looks like. https://imgur.com/a/RRQT7. It is many lines more than the actual table and almost freezes WordPress. It is a CSV file but it seems to be reading extra information, yet when I use the same link and open the file in Excel, it works flawlessly. I have tried adding “pub?output=csv” and other solutions, but since it is already published as a CSV file, I am still having the issue.
Thanks a ton for your plugin and help,
    Ian

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

If you have extra output there, the Google link does not actually go to a CSV file, I’m afraid – but that’s necessary for TablePress to be able to import it.
I can therefore only suggest that you play around more with the export/publish methods of Google Spreadsheets, to find a link that directly returns a CSV file, without having to log in.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks for checking that out for me. It is a bit perplexing because it seems to be a totally normal csv file to my other spreadsheet programs. I will keep looking into it, as I feel like I’m pretty close.
    Vielen dank!

    Hi,

that should always be checked in a text editor. Also, the access rights seem off, I’m asked to log in to see that document (from your link above). This will also cause trouble on the server, as TablePress/WordPress can’t log in either.

    Regards,
    Tobias
