User reported that when visiting the site directly the web page loads fine, however when visiting the site through a google search link, the following error is generated:

Warning: inet_pton(): Unrecognized address in /nfs/c06/h04/mnt/186727/domains/domainname.com/html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/vendor/wordfence/wf-waf/src/lib/utils.php on line 27

It wasn’t resolved without deactivating the plugin, is there helpful insight about this error, I personally wasn’t able to replicate it but it was persistent on the user’s end.

  • Hi Moatz!
Can you confirm that your client’s website is using Cloudflare? it will be helpful if you can share the website link with us, either here on the forums or send it to my email at “alaa [at] wordfence [dot] com”.

    Thanks.

Hi @wdalaa, Yes, the website is routed through cloudflare, but I have other websites running with that setup and not replicating the same issue. the website url is: https://cityandcountrycbt.com/ thank you.

I think we have seen this issue before when it only happens when users visit your websites with IPv6 address, there is a possibility that your servers aren’t configured properly to handle IPv6 requests, please check if you have “IPv6 Compatibility” option enabled in Cloudflare, if so, then try to disable it temporarily and wait for an hour or something then re-check this issue.

    Thanks.
