I am trying to upload a csv to import a Download with all its selling options (an operation I have already done in the past on this site), but I can’t succeed because of this message “This type of file is not allowed for security reasons”(my EDD is in italian, but this is the meaning).

It never happened before, can anyone help me?

Can you please provide the the full screenshot of that screen on which you are getting this error? OR it would be good if you can writer down the steps which you had perform.

Hi @pratik-jain and thanks for replying,
I just tried to upload a csv in “Easy Digital Downloads Tools” > “Import” as I’ve done plenty of other times in the past.

This is the error screen. Eng version of the error is: “Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.”

I don’t know why this is happening now, since I did not make any big change from the last time it worked. I tried allowing csv mime type via theme function.php but didn’t work and I don’t know how to import my big list of product options.

    Thank you for your help

I did resolved with the plugin Disable Real MIME Check.
But I still can’t understand why this happended.

    Hi @francescag

Yes, I saw same thread on web. I saw some response like this

    MIME validation for uploaded files

Prior to 5.0.1, WordPress did not require uploaded files to pass MIME type verification, so files could be uploaded even if the contents didn’t match the file extension. For example, a binary file could be uploaded with a .jpg extension.

This is no longer the case, and the content of uploaded files must now match their extension. Most valid files should be unaffected, but there may be cases when a file needs to be renamed to its correct extension (e.g., an OpenOffice doc going from .pptx to .ppxs).

Can you please confirm your WordPress version?

The Website where I’m experiencing the issue has WP 4.9.10 so it’s not 5.x related. Really can’t figuring what caused the issue.
