Currently, I have a problem with sitemaps generated by Yoast SEO, particularly with sitemaps containing blogs. All other post types/category sitemaps are generating fine and working well. But for some reason, the Blog post-sitemap2.xml is not working properly.

I first noticed this error when I was submitting sitemaps at Google Search Console. There I got the following 504 error message with “ post-sitemap2.xml”

Then when trying to visit the sitemap URL, it takes a long time to load and finally generates a 504 page:
https://www.brsoftech.com/blog/post-sitemap2.xml

Sitemap index and all other site maps are working well:
https://www.brsoftech.com/blog/sitemap_index.xml

I tried to clear the cache of Yoast sitemaps by turning them off and back on from Yoast SEO settings. Unfortunately, this didn’t solve the issue. Would you have any other ideas, how to fix the issue?`

On visiting the /post-sitemap2/ at https://www.brsoftech.com/blog/post-sitemap2.xml, there is an error 524 Error – A timeout occurred. Cloudflare has recommendations on how to configure their service to prevent these time errors at https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003011431-Troubleshooting-Cloudflare-5XX-errors#524error

Thanks for responding to me back.

Actually, I want to clarify here that when I am not using Cloudflare service to speed up the website speed. At that time, It is showing 504 errors for this sitemap… (https://www.brsoftech.com/blog/post-sitemap2.xml)

If this issue arises from Cloudflare, then can you tell me that why other sitemaps are working properly here such as https://www.brsoftech.com/blog/post-sitemap1.xml

Kindly check it. I think that it is not a Cloudflare issue…

To confirm the issue, can you please try resetting our indexables in the database tables by following the steps below?
1. Install & activate the?Yoast Test Helper plugin
2. Go to Tools > Yoast Test
3. Hit the “Reset indexables & migrations” button.
4. Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “SEO Data Optimization” button to allow Yoast to rescan your pages.

Does this help resolve this issue?

@bondgaurav31 Thanks for your reply.

Regarding the 504 error, we checked on your sitemaps and do see from the main sitemap that it looks like the sitemap is being cache with W3 Total Cache as well. Have you tried excluding your sitemaps from the W3 Total Cache plugin as well as Cloudflare and seeing whether that resolves the error?
