  • +1 for this issue. I don’t know what the application specific ID is!

I am having the same exact problem as pzh20

I am still having the same issue as well, facebook does not allow using the global ID and just how do you find what the application specific ID is? I have been watching this for an answer and still no-one has resolved this simple issue….

    Hi there,

Please follow the links under each text field for the correct place (in Facebook) to get the requested info.

    App ID
This is the Application ID of the application you created in Facebook. If you didn’t create one, please take a detailed look at the installation instructions of the plugin.

    Page ID or slug
This is the numeric ID of the page you want to fetch posts from. This can also be a slug but in general, using a numeric ID is safer.

Example: CodeToTheChase (slug) and 141379649214982 (id).

You can use this site to get the numeric ID of your Facebook page.

    Hope that helps!

That’s exactly what it says to do on set up but I’ve tried this a thousand times and it still wont work. I enter my facebook url into the link you gave, copy the number and paste it into Facebook Page ID or Slug box, hit test configuration and I get the following: he global ID XXXXXXXX is not allowed. Please use the application specific ID instead???

And I get the same thing as well…

“global ID XXXXXXXX is not allowed. Please use the application specific ID instead”

… which is exactly what a number of us have been stating to you and you do not seem to understand the problem. At this point, until this problem that way more than one of us are having is resolved, this is totally unusable
