I use WP Mail SMTP on serval sites, but this is the first time I have tried to connect it to Siteground’s hosted email.

The error I get is :

Error due to unsolicited and/or bulk e-mail.

This means the connection to your SMTP host was made successfully, but the host rejected the email.

Typically this error is returned when you are sending too many e-mails or e-mails that have been identified as spam.

If I do a check on MX toolbox I don’t see any flags on the domain or anything, and we don’t send out any bulk email.

Siteground support are looking into it but have asked me to contact plugin support to enquire whether there is a possible bug with the current version of the plugin.

    Any help very gratefully accepted!

  • Hi @frankprendergast,

When you get a chance, could you please share a full error log recorded when you send a test email from WP Mail SMTP > Email Test? Here’s a screenshot for the option to get a full error log. This will give us an idea of what might be going on.

    Thanks ??

i got this error when trying to send the emails with a NON siteground hosted email as the sender email. i was testig and put a gmail address in there and forgot to change it back to a siteground hosted email

    HI @stinsy,

Thanks for the update. Yes, the Sender’s email should be the one you’ve authenticated to send emails from. I’m glad you figured it out.

    Have a good one!
