• Hi,

I keep having an issue with the sitemap: it keeps indexing wrong URLs instead of the right ones (which I have changed from the backend and already redirected the pages to with the plugin…)

Let’s make an example: in the sitemap “https://www.smglanguages.com/page-sitemap2.xml” there are some links that no longer exist like “https://www.smglanguages.com/home/?lang=en” that has been changed to “https://www.smglanguages.com/?lang=en“.

Although I’ve tried so hard to change it in the page sitemap, it keeps showing the wrong one. This is a problem because Google Search Console by analyzing the pages says that there are issues with the sitemap and does not index the correct URLs…

    What can I do?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

That’s correct because the main language for the website is italian… but it’s not clear whether we should add anything in the slug field for the other languages… actually it generates the slug by itself adding automatically the hreflang…

Does it work as I said or actually we have to manually add “/?lang=en” to the english version and so on for every other language other than italian?

I tried replicating your setup by choosing Language name added as a parameter in WordPress > WPML > Languages > Language URL format. When I translated my homepage into two other languages, I didn’t have to fill out the slug field; it was auto-populated. All three versions of the homepage are also included in the page sitemap.

As I mentioned before, there may be something else peculiar to your setup, that’s excluding the EN version.
