Error: Your hosting configuration does not allow access to add files to your sit

I have been able to generate the exact report I require from the database from a simple SQL query. However, when I click the CSV button I get an error message and a request for FTP information. I would prefer to download the CSV direct to my disk drive. Is this possible?
