Error: Your site may not be ready for Site Kit

The message you’re encountering could be caused by different reasons, including a hosting configuration, limited Google services availability in your region or your WordPress environment. With that please share the following so we can investigate this further:

1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred. Please include your current hosting provider where requested if using the form.
2. At what stage during the setup process do you encounter this notice (ie. At the final stage when clicking on the “View Dashbord” button?)
3. When attempting setup from a Chrome browser incognito window do you see any browser console errors on the screen where this appears?

Hopefully we can determine the cause and ensure you get the plugin setup. I did notice that when trying to access your URL via https it doesn’t redirect me to your site. This may be a consideration we can check after you share the above.

About the second question – I have installed and activated the plugin. Then I go into it’s dashboard and this is when I get this message.

Also when I try to start the setup I get this message – “Oops! There was a problem during set up. Please try again.
Unknown Error (code: cURL error 7: Failed to connect to sitekit.withgoogle.com port 443: Connection refused).”

Many thanks for sharing. I’m wondering if the Fallback: HTTP error: status code 404 may be contributing to the issue. With that can you can you share the following?

1. Are you using the free hosting package with your current hosting provider – which doesn’t provide a free SSL and may have other restrictions?
2. Are you able to use a plugin or check with your host in order to apply a redirection for anybody visiting the https version of your URL to be directed to your site (https://eleonoraskarankou.com)

Note that rather than redirecting to your non secure (http) site it would be more ideal to activate HTTPs for your site.

While you confirm the above I’ll also see if I can setup a site on the same hosting platform, which has a free hosting service. The “cURL error 7” error you’re encountering is hosting related, so we can troubleshoot this further once you check your sites http/https status.

Yes, I have checked with the hosting and it seems that the problem is from them. Thanks a lot for you help.

Glad to hear you were able to determine the cause. I did test the same hosting plan and I encountered the same.

From further checks it seems the free plan doesn’t allow outgoing HTTP connections.
