Zip code validation no longer works on my site. When customers try to check out, they get a “ZIP/Postal code is not formatted correctly.” error, even when their zip code is correct. I have tried removing the form field and validation requirement, but they still can’t check out. Please help.

Hello,

As a first step, can you please provide a screenshot of your settings under WooCommerce > settings > general > General options, I’d like to check the following:
- Selling location(s)
- Shipping location(s)?
- Default customer location
Also, please provide a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if any error is visible)?

Let us know what you find.

Thank you so much for helping! I really appreciate it. I think I have what you asked for here:

Selling locations: Sell to specific countries
United States
United States Minor Outlying Islands
Shipping locations: ship to all countries you sell to
Default customer location: No location by default

I didn’t see any error logs – the only file in that location was empty.

Hi,

Thanks for responding, it appears those settings are the same on my testing site, and I am unable to see the same issue on my end.

Can you disable all plugins temporarily except WooCommerce? Is the issue present at this point?

If not, you can then re-enable one plugin at a time, and be sure to check again after each reactivation until you find the cause of the issue.

Using the Meks Quick Plugin Disabler plugin, you will be able to remember what plugins you currently have active, making it easy to switch them back on.

Okay, I was able to check out successfully until I activated the “WooCommerce Shipping and Tax” plugin. All the other plugins (I don’t have very many, since I was trying to keep the site really simple) seem to work. I wonder what it was there for in the first place, since tax and shipping both got calculated, anyway. I don’t remember installing it and figured it was just part of the WooCommerce package. Does it make sense to you?

The WooCommerce Shipping & Tax extension can help you with automating the tax and shipping calculation as well as creating shipping labels.

That said, the extension works fine on my test site so I assume there was a plugin conflict.

If you don’t need it then feel free to disable it, it’s not mandatory if that’s what you’re asking. ??
