I am having difficulty getting this plugin running. I installed from the WordPress admin page. I was able to activate it and get into the settings (once). I went to authorize and after it authorizes I got the following message (one page… just that text):

    ErrorException thrown

    Undefined variable: http_response_header

So when I go back into settings on the WP side, I get that now so I seem stuck. I tried deleting my browser cache. Untappd did get authorized in the process. Any help would be appreciated.

If it helps… I deleted the plugin… went through the steps again and the same thing happened. I can get into the settings the first time. I was able to click to Authorize… the Untappd site comes up and I can authorize but once it is back to wordpress… all I get is the above message.

    Hi sndinc!

Thanks so much for reporting this bug! I’ve just pushed out v3.0.3 which should fix the issue. Please let me know if the error persists after installing the update.

    Thanks!

Well, that problem seems to be resolved now… however, I’m not sure if this is normal:

There was a problem! You may have reached your API token’s rate limit for the hour. Please try again later.

I deleted the plugin and tried installing again and was able to authorize again but get the same error. Not really sure why I would be getting that so I am not sure if it is a problem with the plugin or untappd. =)

    Hi sndinc,

So sorry to hear that it’s still not working! Untappd’s rate limit is 100 API requests per hour per user. So unless there’s some reason why your account would be making that many requests in such a short period of time (which I doubt there is), it sounds like there’s something funky going on in the communication between Untappd and WordPress. If you don’t mind, can I ask what the username of the Untappd account you’re trying to log in with is? It will help me to better debug the situation on my end.

    Thanks!

    My untappd username is ixion

Awesome, thanks! So I think I’ve narrowed down what the issue is. Can you do me one more favor and visit this link and let me know if you see an “Untappd API Access Token” generated in the text box? Don’t post the token here for security purposes as only you are able to see it as the validated user (even I can’t see it as the developer). It might ask you to authenticate with Untappd again as if you’re logging in via the plugin. If you see an error instead of a token, let me know what it says.

    Thanks so much!

I followed the link and it did show me an access token.

Awesome! Thanks so much – I just released v3.0.4 and it should (hopefully) fix the issue for good. Please let me know if for some reason it does not!

So… now I just may be at a state where it is user error. I am getting “No beers found.” on the widget. I haven’t changed any settings… I’m just wanting to pull like my last adds from untapped. =)

You’re referring to the Untappd Check-ins widget? Which brewery are you trying to display check-ins for? Make sure the brewery ID is set correctly in the widget settings:

Find your Untappd brewery ID number by going to your brewery’s official page (i.e. https://untappd.com/BreweryName). Click on the “Brewery Feed (RSS)” link in the right-hand sidebar. The link’s URL will be formatted like this:

    https://untappd.com/rss/brewery/64324

The string of numbers at the end of the URL is your brewery ID number. If you have authenticated with Untappd in the Labs section, your brewery’s ID will automatically populate the field.

I think I got it figured out… mostly I was at the point where I was trying to figure out what the plugin could do. Thanks for the help! I have some cosmetic issues but I will start a new thread for that.
