In search console I’ve hundreds of this links. If analyzed Google COULD INDEX THEM.

Where do they come from? How can I delete them?

Hi @laugher1, thanks for reporting this issue. Those links are PMB’s print page URLs, which are print-friendly versions of your blog posts. I hadn’t realized Google might be indexing them. That’s a good point to have brought up.
I suppose I need to instruct Google and others search engines to not index them. Let me see what options I have…

Ok I’ve created a GitHub issue with a plan on how to fix this issue. See https://github.com/mnelson4/printmyblog/issues/315
I’m afraid I probably won’t get around to working on it until next week. If you’ve moved onto using another plugin by then, no worries. But thanks for reporting this problem.

Hey @laugher1 the latest release of print my blog should fix this problem by using a meta tag to tell Google and other search engines to not index those URLs you shared. Can you confirm it worked? Or if not, share some screenshots and more info about the problem?

Besides pages “scannered but not indexed” many pages have been really indexed by Google in pages “indexed but not sent by sitemap”. Site pages have grown a lot.

Crawls errors 404 have appeared. In this case am not sure is linked to your plugin but the date in which they have appeared coincide. Links as:

I like your plugin a lot but can’t switch it on and verify your solution, up to these mistakes will be deleted from search console. Visits suffered of this.

If you like to give a sight, passing to me your mail, I could give to you a search console account.

Sorry but can’t verify your solution now.

    Have a good day.

Hi @laugher1, yes you should be getting “scanned but not indexed” since PMB 2.12.8, but PMB 3.12.9 also tells Google to not even visit the print pages.

I’ve checked my Google search console and saw one indexed print page in it (see https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuMAO_Xs0t43m2rbUYSviIVrXp9m?e=TqwXlL) but after I updated PMB and requested Google re-index the page, Google acknowledges the page should not be indexed. See https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuMAO_Xs0t43m2nFEAsLgd8hhRF3?e=MUYgLa

I think I’ll need to wait for Google to re-index my site before the print-page will be removed from Google’s index.

Regarding the 404 errors: I don’t believe those are due to PMB. I’ve looked over the code and don’t see any such links.

No worries if you’re not in a position to verify the issues are fixed.

I’m satisfied that the issues you brought up have been addressed or don’t seem to be PMB’s doing. Pleae reopen this issue if you have more info to share on this.
