Ok I love this plugin by the way.

So after I tried the free trial of the premium version, I came back a week to find that instead of reverting back to the free version, the plugin had deactivated itself, and all you can see is shortcodes. It would be better if it at least emails the admin warning that it will stop working completely!

So I reverted back to the free version and left it like that for a week.

So this morning I login to find this error,

The plugin sociallocker-next-free/sociallocker-next.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.

    ?

So I reactivated the plugin and it’s working for now, but seriously I have to check it’s working everyday? I would like to buy a premium licence for 3 sites but not if I have to check up on it all the time.

    Great plugin overall.

One annoying thing also, when you load a page and see the locker straight away, the Facebook like button hangs around underneath the button that covers it. Once the whole page is loaded it pops back under it… just a thing. ??

Thanks for the free plugin though ??

    Hi,

Sorry to hear that you faced these issues.

Yes, when the trial is expired, the plugin disables the most of its features and displays the warning in the admin panel. You suggested a good idea to send an email to the admin in order to notify about disabling the plugin after the trial has been expired. On all probability we will add this feature in the next version.

    The plugin sociallocker-next-free/sociallocker-next.php

Unfortunately it’s not a normal behavior. It’s the first time I’ve heard about this error. It may be a conflict with other plugins. Anyhow I will be glad to assist you to try to solve this issue if the error happens again.

One annoying thing also, when you load a page and see the locker straight away, the Facebook like button hangs around underneath the button that covers it.

It’s easy to fix. Please show me your page where you put the locker.

Hi there, thanks for your detailed response. Yes could have been a plugin conflict.

I noticed a new problem today, it was that the buttons where not working, clicking the Facebook like, and tweet buttons did nothing, a couple people emailed me telling me they could not download the files. It was on 2 different websites, I disabled and re-enabled the plugin and the problem has disappeared for now. They both have the plugin ‘Autoptimize’ – could that be the issue?

That would be great, you can see the jumping Facebook like button on this page https://papercrystal.com/printables/nishiki-brocade-coloured-version-origami-paper/

    Hiya guys;
I’m Autoptimize’s developer. If Social Locker relies on JavaScript, then yes AO (which aggregates & minifies any CSS/ JS it can find) could be the reason for some of these problems. If that is the case, one can configure AO to exclude any inline CSS/JS or linked CSS/JS-file from aggregation in the settings-screen, there’s more info in the FAQ on this topic.

    Hope this helps,

Hi Frank, I love your plugin, it has helped get me an 83 score on page speed on my main website (with adsense!).

I am hoping it’s not the case as there are about 80 JS files in the plugin… It’s working today, so fingers crossed.

    Hi again,

So I disabled the JS section of Autoptimize on my website, https://papercrystal.com/

I received another email from someone who couldn’t download, it was doing the same thing, nothing happened when you click the buttons.

On my other site, https://www.paperkawaii.com, there are a couple of pages that use it, such as https://www.paperkawaii.com/2013/02/02/pop-up-valentines-card-template/

So far, on that website, it’s working, I cannot disable the JS cache in Autoptimize on that one, haha.

Do either of you have a suggestion? Is there anything else I can try?

If not, thanks for your help, great plugins!

When it works OK on one site but not on the other, the issue probably is with some other JS causing throuble when being autoptimized. Have a look at your browser’s developer tool’s (error) console for hints of what is going wrong and use that info to exclude the offending JS from optimization. Alternatively you can also try the option “add try/catch wrapping”, which tries to isolate each block of JS inside the autoptimized JS-file.

    hope this helps,
    frank
