Errors in /wp-admin/

  • I am getting the following error in the /wp-admin/ folder:
    [03-Mar-2015 17:29:14 UTC] PHP Strict Standards: Only variables should be passed by reference in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-backup/BTE_WB_admin.php on line 6

    Is it due to the new version of WordPress?

    Can you fix this?

  • No, that sort of error is caused by a PHP version or settings upgrade on your server. This is something that the author for yoru backup plugin will have to look at (the error is in /wp-plugins/wordpress-backup/ and that’s a plugin folder, so isn’t part of the WordPress core code).

    If the author can’t do anything (it’s actually a pretty easy fix) then you might want to look at another backup plugin.
