    I don’t know what is this and I’m desperate to find out as I found something on the internet saying it’s a virus.

    Please clarify this to me.

    I have a WordPress website and I use your plugin to display ads. However, for a couple of days, I have noticed these errors in the console and I don’t know what they mean.

    All of them are related to this URL: [ redundant link removed ]

    The errors are saying:

    Failed to load resource: net::ERR_ADDRESS_INVALID

    GET googlecm.hit.gemius.pl/googleredir?rid=… net::ERR_ADDRESS_INVALID

    First, what this address with .pl means.

    And second, how do I fix these issues?

    Once I deactivate your plugin all errors disappear so I’m sure it has something to do with your plugin. Please assist.

    Hi rocketkiddo,

    Thanks for reporting your issue. The errors on your screenshot are not coming from Advanced Ads, but I guess from any ad codes that you inject with the plugin.

    The first error appears because Google cannot identify the available space in the container where you placed the ad code. You can resolve this issue by changing the ad format from responsive to fixed-size.

    I guess the other errors are caused by malicious ad codes. Can you please activate Advanced Ads and disable add ads in the frontend in Advanced Ads > Settings > General to check if these errors still persist?

    Best regards,
    Joachim

    Hi,

    I disabled the ads in the frontend and the errors are gone.

    Hi rocketkiddo,

    Thanks for your reseaches. I guess that the problem is connected with the ad codes that you insert. Advanced Ads does not call this external source.

    Can you please review the embedded ad codes?

    Best regards,
    Joachim

    It’s an Adsense ad inserted automatically as I have my Adsense account connected to your plugin. I searched on the internet and it seems that indeed it’s a malicious code.

    I don’t know if you can assist me with these but I’d highly appreciate any insight.

    Thanks!

    Hi rocketkiddo,

    Thanks for your reply.

    This would be the first time I have had to deal with malicious code being injected via AdSense.

    I recommend reporting this ad unit to AdSense. You can do that by clicking the x-icon in the top-right corner of the ad unit and choosing “Why this ad?”. Afterward, you will find a “Report this ad” button on the next page.

    As a short solution, you might disable the Auto ads and test if the same issue appears when you insert an AdSense ad manually.

    Best regards,
    Joachim
