I’m running a single page website using Elementor, with a video in the header and a large (in size, not in pixels) image around two or three rows down.

Since this morning following the upgrade to 3.0, the video had changed to its rollback image, and the large image further down had disappeared.

In the page editor, however, everything appears normal – the issue is only viewable on the saved site.

Both of these issues were resolved by rolling Elementor back to 2.9.14.

Quick update here – Elementor versions 3.0, 3.0.1, 3.0.2 and 3.0.3 all have the same error in that videos cannot be played as the header element, but they are showing as working in the editor – plus of course the large image further down the page does not show.

With the lack of support for these rather substantial issues in this support forum, it looks like it might be time to say goodbye to Elementor.

If you have layout issues following an update you have to check if the regenerate CSS helps to rule out an issue with your server cache and you have to check if the problems are linked to your CSS print method:

Sorry, but that reply was of no use.

Just tried version 3.4 (looks like Elementor realise that there are real problems), regenerated the CSS, cleared every cache possible, and still the header video and the large image refused to show until I rolled back to version 2.9.14.

It’s gone from a great plugin that I was raving about to a sub-standard plugin that needs deactivating and deleting.

Can you please share with us the link to the page with the problem so we can investigate it?

    Sure, its THIS WEBSITE.

I’ll upgrade to Elementor version 3.4 for a couple of hours for you to diagnose it.

Note that the top image is in fact a video, and the large empty space is missing another image.

Hang on, I just tried this on firefox and it works fine.

    Must be my browser cache…

    Yes, emergency over.

Schoolboy error I’m afraid, it was the browser cache.

All is working fine again now.
