• I updated one of my sites to WP 5.9. After that, I had a couple of plugins to update and themes as well. The plugins errored on the first try, but I tried them later, and they updated just fine. It’s the themes that are not updating. Oddly enough, the themes that won’t update are “Twenty Twenty” and “Twenty Twenty-One”.

The error I get is: An error occurred while updating Twenty Twenty: Download failed. The checksum of the file () does not match the expected checksum value (531766e58cd1611208780d7c06e979f4).

I have checked disk space, and I have plenty. I also checked to make sure there is a temp dir path in my config file, and all is good there.

    Anyone seen this same issue?

  • What is your tmp path, and did you chmod it to 777?
Also the user you created your tmp path with, may not be the same user executing the update from WordPress.
If you have terminal access, just login and type id at the prompt to see what group they belong to. Then check the groups by typing groups.
But first, change the permissions on your tmp folder.
