My site is on a Windows server. When I install Jetpack everything is fine until it tries to connect to WordPress.com. I then get these errors

PHP Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at E:\Domains\s\sashita.org.uk-1082643464\user\htdocs\wp\wp-includes\script-loader.php:1328) in E:\Domains\s\sashita.org.uk-1082643464\user\htdocs\wp\wp-includes\rest-api.php on line 501

I contacted my host, Fasthosts, asking if they could help and their reply was –

State to the error message that it cannot modify header information for the file and the files has a error message to the line 501.
Yes, if you updated the codes to your file and still receiving the error message.
    Thanks again for contacting us.

If you can understand that, you are a better man than I. It is typical of their support replies.
I have repeated the request to them asking for a plain English reply but do not hold out much hope.

Can anyone shed some light on this please?

    Thanks in advance.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

It seems that one of your plugins currently conflicts with Jetpack’s admin interface.

Could you try to deactivate each one of your plugins, one at a time, and let me know when you find the conflicting plugin?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jeremy
Thanks for your input. I didn’t start disabling plugins initially, because the only ones installed were the default wordpress ones and three that came with the theme I’m using.

    BUT

The culprit turned out to be Dagon Design Sitemap Generator plugin. It came with my theme and I stupidly did not check up on it before installing. It seems to be VERY old.

Obviously being on a Windows server had nothing to do with it at all, I was off on a wild goose chase.

Thank you so much for putting me back on the straight and narrow.

    Best Regards

    Colin
