I’m encountered a strange new issue when menu links contain fragment identifiers.

I’m finding that the intended link will usually load, then the browser immediately redirects to the very first menu item the Plumbing Services page.

I am able to replicate the issue on multiple desktops, using Chrome on Windows and MacOS.

The behaviour also occurs on Safari on MacOS, but only if you are already on the same page as the fragment identifier link.

The issue does not occur on mobile.

So far the only work around I have been able to figure out is to create dummy URL and use 301 redirect to the fragment identifier link. (I have done this for Drainage > Hydraulic Design). However, this workaround results in a page reload, even if the user is on the relevant page already.

Hi @matthewhaymes,

By “fragment identifiers“, did you mean an anchor link? I can’t find one on the Menu. Perhaps you have removed it due to the issue you described above? If you have removed it, please create a video showing what the issue looks like.

Hello

By “fragment identifiers” I mean links where the link to specific portions of a page. i.e. https://eleebanaplumbing.com.au/plumbing-services/#leaking-drains

Due to the time it took to receive a response, I had to proceed with implementing a work around.

I have reverted just one of the links so that you can replicate the issue.

Steps:
1. Navigate to https://eleebanaplumbing.com.au/plumbing-services
2. Scroll part way down the page.
3. Using the header menu navigate the Plumbing > Exterior and Water System Plumbing > Leaking Drains.
4. Instead of navigating to https://eleebanaplumbing.com.au/plumbing-services/#leaking-drains, the web page loads https://eleebanaplumbing.com.au/drainage-services/
