I was very happy to be able to test Broken Link Checker 2 because I had abandoned the previous version which was too greedy in resources.
Unfortunately I launched a scan from the hub and at the end of the scan nothing happened… after having scanned about 250 000 links the tool shows me that there are 0 links and 0 broken links.
I get the message “API Error: Crawling in progress”…
    In short, it’s quite disappointing.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Same here, it is really disappointing. Tried BLC 1.0 and it doesnt find all the custom post meta links, and BLC 2.0 stops at like 70,000 something links lol. It takes a long time for it to fully run.

    Hi @byothe,

I hope you are doing well today!

Have you already added BLC IP to the allow list on your server and try again?

    Kind regards,

    ok…

do you have a more detailed tutorial for this ?

May the problem come from AIO WP Security ?

    Thanks

Your IP adress is not blocked server side by my host…

I whitelitsted it in my firewall plugin and at Cloudflare…

    And still not working

    Hi @byothe

    Thank you for the update.

I checked the logs and found two issues.

The first one is the one you described “Scan timed out”, I can confirm it indeed timed out.

At this initial release, we have a scan limit if one hour, our developers are already working on different approaches to improve it.

Unfortunately, we would need to use V1 for now.

The second problem is a connection reset, I pinged our developers to confirm if that is on our end or if something is blocking the API, however, due to the timeout previously reported, the V1 would be necessary.

    Best Regards

    Hi @wpmudevsupport12

Thanks for your answer. I tried to use v1 this weekend and it’s also having problems…

It looks as if it can only scan new blog posts…

I was using v1 a few months ago and it was working fine… I stopped using it due to it’s heavy ressources consumption…

    Hi @byothe

Are you able to disable temporary Cloudflare, run new scan and see if this helps? We had a case where even with Cloudflare settings where BLC was whitelisted scan was not able to run and give results.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

    Hello @wpmudevsupport13

thank you for the answer… I have decided to remove the plugin for now. I’ll come back when the development is more advanced

    Thanks
