Essential tool for Design/Stability testing

  • If you are not a full developer with expertise in versioning and site deployment tools, but want to make some site modifications, this is an essential plugin. I use it to test:
    1) plugin updates
    2) new plugins
    3) site design changes
    before committing them to my production site.

    There are a few quirks related to having to log in to the staged site that prevents some of the original site functionality. For example, I like to use the ability to change to another user with the “Switch User” plugin, but WP Staging stops that. However, these are minor quibbles compared with the benefits and overall ease of use of WP Staging.

    To prevent your login quirk just disable WP staging on the testing website and you are able to access the site as a regular user.
