• Hi there,

we had this conversation a few month ago by email. I saw that the plugin is now updated 2 months ago.

Since my emails are not answered anymore, i would like to raise the same questions here in the support area. This way others might participate:

    FREE vs PRO

    – you need to separate IT customers and EU customers. For EU customers the only field thats interesting is the EUID if you want to sell B2B.

    — if NOT IT: all IT fields are hidden (pec, cf, piva)? VERY IMPORTANT

    — if EU: EUID field is getting shown and checked against VIES? If EUID is valid, in checkout IVA is getting erased? (also IVA from the parcel delivery service?)

    — All data is recorded in the order? Please check WooCommerce EU VAT Assistant from Aelia https://de.www.ads-software.com/plugins/woocommerce-eu-vat-assistant/ …This is the functionality thats needed and obligatory if you sell B2B to EU. This plugin works very well even in the free version but is discontinued.

    – If customer choose IT as invoice/delivery country: IT fields are shown (pec, CF, PIVA) -> optional and mandatory fields hide in respect of customers choice? All fields are getting checked against SDI?
    — EUID field is hidden?

    – i can choose positioning of fields in checkout?

    – all needed or filled data is saved in meta fields in the order? Meaning i can use those fields in my own choice of for example invoicing pdf plugin?

    – i can export IT orders as xml invoice to send to SDI? also automatically send to SDI?

sorry for all these questions (again) but these are the functions that are necessary to sell in IT and EU (B2C and B2B). I′m looking for the one solution that does everything in a legally right way and is hiding IT-fields to the EU customer because they are disturbing (nobody in the EU does understand those fields. It′s an italian “specialty” … and this will lead to a high bounce rate).

    best regards`

    Salve @holle75,

    1) you need to separate IT customers and EU customers. For EU customers the only field thats interesting is the EUID if you want to sell B2B.
    2) if NOT IT: all IT fields are hidden (pec, cf, piva)? VERY IMPORTANT
    3) if EU: EUID field is getting shown and checked against VIES? If EUID is valid, in checkout IVA is getting erased? (also IVA from the parcel delivery service?)

    4) All data is recorded in the order? Please check WooCommerce EU VAT Assistant from Aelia https://de.www.ads-software.com/plugins/woocommerce-eu-vat-assistant/ …This is the functionality thats needed and obligatory if you sell B2B to EU. This plugin works very well even in the free version but is discontinued.

    5) If customer choose IT as invoice/delivery country: IT fields are shown (pec, CF, PIVA) -> optional and mandatory fields hide in respect of customers choice? All fields are getting checked against SDI?

    6) EUID field is hidden?

Cos’è questo campo EUID? Non esiste.

    7) i can choose positioning of fields in checkout?

No, a meno che non lavora con i CSS.

    8) all needed or filled data is saved in meta fields in the order? Meaning i can use those fields in my own choice of for example invoicing pdf plugin?

    9) i can export IT orders as xml invoice to send to SDI? also automatically send to SDI?`

    Cordiali saluti

    Salve @holle75,
    Ciao Webrook

    — THANK YOU FOR GETTING BACK

    — Right, that might be one option to make it work, somehow. Always show all fields. Unfortunately NO B2C client in the EU besides italians has or know “tax numbers” to fill in when they shop online.

    — CODICE FISCALE DO NOT EXIST IN EU COUNTRIES BESIDES ITALY for online shopping. Not yet. Hopefully it stays this way. You never know with what annoying nonsense bureaucracy can come up.

    — Also the PIVA for businesses is not mandatory to use in other countries for online shopping. The Only interesting number for intra-comunity sales for EU businesses is the EUID (european VAT number). The EUID looks very similar to the PIVA but is NOT the same thing.

    — So any field that asks a number is disturbing. Even when it′s not mandatory. Thats why i ask to hide CF and PIVA if any other country than italy is picked from the dropdown list. Yes, the Field for the EUID should be displayed IF ANY OTHER COUNTRY THAN ITALY is picked. It′s a NOT mandatory field that you as a FOREIGN EU business CAN fill to buy VAT free. This field has to be checked against VIES/MIAS. If the number verifies, VAT should be deducted at checkout.

    — it′s simple if you want to do it right:
    — Italy -> all crazy fields and combinations of those must be shown but NOT EUID field (only for companys outside of italy)
    — not Italy but EU -> only show EUID field

    4) All data is recorded in the order? Please check WooCommerce EU VAT Assistant from Aelia https://de.www.ads-software.com/plugins/woocommerce-eu-vat-assistant/ …This is the functionality thats needed and obligatory if you sell B2B to EU.

    — i want to know if the EUID field and regarding data (the number itself, the response from VIES when checked, etc.) recorded in the checkout are saved IN THE ORDER as meta fields so i can use them for other purposes (pdf invoice, the compulsory evidence requirement for e.g. intra-community purchases, etc.)

    5) If customer choose IT as invoice/delivery country: IT fields are shown (pec, CF, PIVA) -> optional and mandatory fields hide in respect of customers choice? All fields are getting checked against SDI?

    — ok, sounds great. Can i configure your plugin according to what i wrote above?

    6) EUID field is hidden?

Cos’è questo campo EUID? Non esiste.

    — see above

    7) i can choose positioning of fields in checkout?

No, a meno che non lavora con i CSS.

    — very complicated to tweak position of fields in checkout with css.

    8) all needed or filled data is saved in meta fields in the order? Meaning i can use those fields in my own choice of for example invoicing pdf plugin?

    — It′s a question about your plugin and where you decide to store the gathered information. In meta fields in the order or somewehere else in the database. Great that you store it with the order. The standard woocommerce behavior.

    9) i can export IT orders as xml invoice to send to SDI? also automatically send to SDI?`

    — Great! in the right xml format so i can send them directly to SDI? Can i send them automatically to SDI after order is confirmed?

Thank you for your answers. Maybe the easiest way to check the requirements would be to offer a DEMO of the PRO version somewhere. Front- and Backend.
