How is the EU VAT validation for digital/virtual products enforced?

By law a 2-step process is necessary: validation by IP address (Geolocation) + country of buyer.

Is this how Woo-Germanized does it?

    Thanks & best regards

    Hi there,

it’s being validated by the VAT ID of the customer which is being checked against the API of the EU.

    cheers

    ?

This would apply to B2B business customers but not B2C. For B2C both my points above apply. Therefore the following description on the vendidero-website is simply wrong and (legally) misleading:

?Seit dem 01.01.2015 muss beim Verkauf von digitalen Produkte in das EU-Ausland der MwSt.-Satz des Empf?ngers berechnet werden – mit Germanized kein Problem mehr.“

    Hi,

well, sorry – seems like I was on the wrong track.
We do only check the country selected within the checkout. If you want to locate the customer by IP Address you may do so by using the options available in WooCommerce.
