I struggle with editing the event list view in the main menu of my website. I am using a query loop block set to The Event Calendar’s ‘Events’ option. However, when I want to change the default event creation block inside of it to event date block, The Event Calendar’s blocks are nowhere to be found. I am talking about the plugin’s blocks described here https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/an-introduction-to-event-blocks/. I have tried installing Gutenberg and enabling the specific option in The Event Calendar’s setting but that didn’t help. Additionally, the ‘Events Archive’ template of my theme (https://ibb.co/6yzbx85) is rarely there. I usually have to edit a template I am currently on in the editor for it to appear in the template list. Yet, when I open it, instead of The Event Calendar’s block I see information that my website doesn’t support the tribe/archive-events block.
I am running WordPress 6.0 with ‘Twenty Twenty-Two’ theme, the other plugins I use are FooGallery and WPForms, all on the latest version.
    Thanks for helping.
    Mateusz

    Hi @wateusz,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Sorry to hear that you’re having this issue.

This looks like a bug in our plugin. I already created an internal bug ticket for this, and I have added your case to it. Thanks for all the details, I will definitely pass it along to our devs.

I am unable to provide an exact date or time estimate for when this bug will be fixed, but you’ll be notified when there are any updates.

Appreciate your patience, and we’re looking forward to helping you solve this. If you do have other concerns or issues you need help with, please create another ticket, as it helps us track different issues.

Again, thank you for your patience.

    Cheers,

    Hi there @wateusz,

Wanted to let you know that we’ve released a plugin update that includes a fix for this issue.

Can you please update our plugins on your site and check to see if you still have the issue you reported?

    Thanks and best regards,

    Marho

Thank you both for the help. Unfortunately, the latest update hasn’t changed anything on my end. The ‘Events Archive’ site template still appears only after I make a change in any other template and when I open it The Events Calendar block displays ‘Your site doesn’t include support for the “tribe/archive-events” block.’ information. ‘Event Blocks’ section in the Block Inserter is still not there either. Am I the only user with this problem? Is it possible that there is a problem with my WP instance and I should reinstall it?

Hi @wateusz, reaching back to you here. I’m curious if the glitch still happens with the latest version of the plugin. Could you try updating the plugins and check if the issue still persists? To be safe please test the updates on a staging server.

Let me know how it goes.
    Have a great day.

    Best,

Hi, thanks for reaching back. Sadly, nothing changed for me since when I started this thread and I’m still trying to solve this issue. I’ll try to explain step-by-step what I want to achieve: My current goal is to display event list with dates in the main menu of my website. I have now set up 2 events with different dates (https://ibb.co/WPgcnN6). Then, in my website editor, I added a query loop, chose it to have the image, name and the date, and set the post type to ‘Event’. This gave me this view: https://ibb.co/3NBqWxD. Now, you can see the date displayed is the event creation date, which is today. I want it to be event date, as when the event was created is irrelevant to me. I was expecting it to be a simple block swap – to replace the post date block with event date block. Unfortunately, it is nowhere to be seen (https://ibb.co/QpymyPW, https://ibb.co/5vmwzzw, https://ibb.co/qMZbNq3, https://ibb.co/qr7RFGj, https://ibb.co/hHvR4g4). I’m on a brand new install now. I’d appreciate any help. Thanks!

Hi @wateusz, thanks for providing more information here. It seems like this is also another bug ticket we’re working on, and I already added your case to it. Rest assured that this is already on our radar.

Appreciate your patience so far. Please note that this is free support and this might take a while since the team has to check priorities and things to consider for this particular fix.

I’d leave this ticket open and notify you in this thread if there are more updates with the bug ticket.

    Have a great day.

    Best,
    Abz

I understand this is free support. Still, this bug has been stopping me from going live with my website for over a month now and I have tried absolutely everything thinking the error was on my side. I have tried many other solutions and I chose to go with yours so I’m really looking forward to seeing it fixed.
    Cheers

    Hello!

I want to point out that the Twenty Twenty-two Theme is a BLOCK Theme. It shouldn’t be used on a production site unless you know how to build with FULL SITE editing. It’s still got a few bugs before it’s 100%. Could this have been the issue?

    (@abzlevelup)

Hi @laughhearty, sorry to hear about this. It is a known issue and we do not fully support FSE theme for now.

See URL here with the heading Partial Support for FSE Themes:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/known-issues/

I’m curious, could you try to Activate Block Editor for Events, under Events → Settings → General Tab → General Settings and see if that makes a difference?

Let me know if that helps.

    Best,
    Abz

Hi @abzlevelup, I’m not having a problem as I’m not using Twenty Twenty-two. I’m just suggesting that may be the issue with the original poster. They may need to use a different theme. Twenty Twenty-two when activated turns WordPress into a different animal all together.

Hi @laughhearty, yikes! Apologies for the confusion and yes you’re probably right and we appreciate the suggestion. For now, that’s the only workaround, using a different theme.

    Have a great day.

Hi @laughhearty, apologies for the delay here, I’m back now.

We just released The Events Calendar 6.0.4. We fixed quite a few errors in this release, and it may have solved this issue as well. Please update and let us know if that fixes the issue here.

To be safe, we’d recommend conducting tests and updates on a Staging Server and keep a working backup of your website.

Also, please clear any caching for both third-party plugins and server-side (if you have any). It would also be good to flush permalinks.

Let us know how it goes.

    Best,
    Abz
