Hi, we’re trying to use the blocks editor in WP 5.4. We’ve had calendar and events tickets installed for a while. Tickets blocks work fine, but events blocks don’t appear in the dropdown. Screenshot of block search on “event” at https://ibb.co/rw57R4L

We’ve updated all the plugins and then after reading some responses have reverted back to events calendar version 5.0.2.1. Still get the same problem.

Blocks is turned on in the settings. There’s a copy of our general settings is here: https://ibb.co/Q6FSMjX

I’m not really sure what steps we can do next to get them to show as per the instructions.

    Many thanks,
    Steve

Hi, I’ve also tried disabling all other plugins, changing the theme back to twentytwenty and then upgrading to latest version again. Still not getting anything. Unsure what to try next.

I’m going to close this – after a lot of debugging your code it seems that the blocks only work on event pages not on standard pages. That’s not clear in your marketing. On the event page the blocks don’t work at all, don’t generate any html – nothing. Difficult to know even where to start, but I’m reluctant to burn any more time on this plugin.

This plugin used to be a rock-solid part of WordPress sites that we’d develop, but the Gutenberg integration is very poor. I’d urge anyone considering The Events Calendar or Events Tickets Plus to look for alternatives until they are able to fix the outstanding issues.

Ah, this didn’t close, but thanks to the events calendar team for getting in touch with a fix for this. Events > Settings > Display > Events Template -> Default Events Template seems to resolve it. A long CSS road ahead, but at least they’re visible now.
    Thanks!

That did not resolve this for me. The Events Calendar blocks are not showing up even though I have chosen Default Events Template. They are simply not there.

@jaimemarchwinski @aguseo [I am including these folks since they responded in this alternate thread about this same bug: ]

I, too, just noticed that my events detail has gone missing when viewing an event, although for some of the older events it is still there. I have read through both this thread and the above mentioned alternate thread. I tried switching to the Default Event Template – no change.

Another thing mentioned in the alternate thread is editing the post.php file (details are provided in the thread) – I REALLY do not want to have to dive into editing the post.php file to get this to work.

I am running WP 5.5.1 with TEC version 5.1.6 with TEC Pro version 5.1.4.

I suspect that while this bug may have been fixed as @jaimemarchwinski indicated almost 4 months ago, it has once again been broken.

My events are all online streaming events – most of them are recurring and I need my visitors to have access to the URL so they can watch. I also don’t want to have to recreate each of my events.

    Please advise ASAP.
