event categories

    When a parent event category has sub categories, in the install I am working with if a sub category is selected, the EM requires the parent category to be selected also or the event does not display on the events listing or in the event calendar. Is this the way the system is programmed or have I missed some category setting someplace?

    hi,

    I tried this on our test server and seems working fine? can I know what is your current EM version and do you have any custom code related to EM or modify any core files?

    Version 5.9.5 This site also has an old events manager pro version 2.5.1 which I do not use and it is inactive.

    As far as I know there have not been any mods to the events manager core files. I took over as webmaster in April 2019 and I have not made any.

    can you try the latest EM dev version 5.9.5.2 ? for dev updates, you can go to events > settings > general > admin tools
