event category pages not found

    The links for the event categories do not work. These are supposed to be auto created by WordPress core similar to post categories. I tried re-saving permalinks, tried deactivating other plugins, tried changing themes.
    I also tried creating a new category after I did all of the above and the new event category did not work either.
    I do see that the link seems to be wrong when I hover over the event category link. It has a double forward slash after ‘events’. https://garvanzapta.org/events//garvanza-pta-events/
    The browser seems to automatically remove one of the double slashes and if I enter manually with only one slash, it doesn’t make a difference.
    Any help is much appreciated. Working great otherwise.

    In Events>Settings I went to the Pages tab and opened the Permalink Slugs accordion tab. removed the forward slash at the end of the ‘events’ in the Event Categories input.
