Event Cost – variable / freeform

In older versions of the plugin, we were able to enter in a freeform value when an event didn’t have one specific cost. For example, we might have events with different rates for children vs. adults. Or conferences which have a wide range of possible costs. For such items, in the past we’d enter a freeform text value such as “varies” or “see website” for the event cost, and that was displayed. It was a simple solution.
However, in 3.12.3, the text entry “varies” is being translated as “FREE”. Obviously that’s a problem, primarily because the event is anything but free ??
I found one post suggesting there was a way to enter a “range” of prices in this plugin, but I suspect that was just “freeform” like we used to do. Obviously someone made a tweak to this part of the plugin…and this is an unintended consequence.
