I am with an association of theatres. To my way of thinking (always a suspicious happening) an event consists of a presenting theatre, a show, a venue, a date and a time.

I was going to use the hostname as the theatre, but it does not appear to be able to provide any other information for the theatre (address, website, e-mail for example). The hostname seems to only be the name of the logged in user creating the event and I have not found a way to change that.

The event title should be the show name, but again I’d like this information to come from a table of show names with additional information available (book by, music by, lyrics by, cast size, length, licensing agency (from a searchable table), short description (default for excerpt) and long description (default for description).

The other items (location, date and time) work as I’d like.

Any ideas as to how I might implement this in My Calendar (or Pro)?

Can the data source for any of the above fields be selected from an additional database?

    Thanks, again, for your help.

There is support for custom fields, and you can build those in My Calendar Pro or via custom code. If you wanted to pull that data from external sources, you’d probably want to custom build them.

The host is the author by default, but that can be changed – you may not have the ‘host’ input field enabled? There are template tags that would allow you to show additional information about the host, although it’s limited.
