I have made my own template to customize display of the event details page . But I am not able to find the ID of that particular event on event detail template. And without ID I don’t think so That I can make it exactly same liek I want , because I can see there is function being used and they are generating thr HTML.

I just want to know how can I get ID of that particular event on event details template?

  • I have a different problem, alas. 90% of the time, I can’t click on the details links on the Events Calendar. I was hoping it was just me (I designed the website) but my users are now complaining too. The links look good — they are blue — but they just don’t respond.

I’m clearly not a real developer so I need help in simple terms.

Here is my page — see if it works for you:

P.S., I am running the latest version of WordPress and have updated Events Calender to the latest version too.

    Thanks!

Well thanks for responding me. I have made my own fix for myself .. ??

And Here is fix for you mate:
You just needs to open tribe event css file and paste the code below there and then you will see all set:

Even you can find this class in your tribe events css file. Let me know if it works for you:

    #tribe-events-content a, .tribe-events-event-meta a
    {position: relative;text-decoration: none; z-index: 1;}

Thanks for getting back to ME! I’m not a real developer and though I’ve done some stuff in CSS, I’m not very confident about it.

Do I paste all of this? Where do I paste it? Is that a winking smile at the end?

    Help!

Yes this will work for you surely.

You jus needs to go to the plugin’s css folder and just copy the snippet I gave you as it is and nothing else.

Let me know if it doesn’t work you .

Probabaly if you trust on me then you can give me you FTP on my email , I will fix it , free of cost ??

    Thanks!
    Sudhanshu

This is the bit I paste in?

    #tribe-events-content a, .tribe-events-event-meta a

    Right?

Thanks for your offer but I need to learn to these things myself, right?

    (@sudhanshudubey)

    Not a problem at all.

But you need to paste below both of the line below:

    #tribe-events-content a, .tribe-events-event-meta a
    {position: relative;text-decoration: none; z-index: 1;}

    Hey folks,

I’m so glad you guys are both getting things working here ?? Sounds like there were some minor theme conflicts going on but you’ve got solutions here. Thanks so much for helping out here Sudhanshu Dubey ??

    ~Leah

What do you mean theme conflicts? Does Event Calendar not work with Oxygen? I have certainly been disappointed that the links rarely work. Is there a fix on the way I hope? My client likes her theme and I’m not changing it — nor do I want to lose all of the information on her calendar.

I’m nervous to mess with the CSS. I’d really love it if there were a fix on your end with the next update. ??

    Thanks!

    Hi epolsby,

I’m not specifically familiar with Oxygen, but it’s very possible that the issue you’re seeing is caused by your theme. We try to make our calendar highly compatible, but there are so many different themes available that we can’t guarantee compatibility across the board. Sometimes you do need to do a bit of CSS tweaking to get thing looking just as you want them to.

You might try temporarily (or on a test site) switching to a default theme like Twenty Twelve and see if that solves the issue. If you can isolate this as an issue that’s inherent to The Events Calendar, we’d be happy to look into it further. Unfortunately, we can’t help troubleshoot conflicts here on the free forum. If you do find a conflict, you can try getting in touch with the developer of the theme and see if they can shed some light on the issue. We’d also be happy to recommend some developers who could help you with some CSS.

    Best,
    Leah

    Dear Leah,

I appreciate that there are a lot of themes and that it’s hard to make an application that works with all of them. You do know that switching an entire website to a different theme is a big undertaking — sort of like starting over from scratch?

I’m going to try the fix suggested above and cross my fingers but if Oxygen is a popular theme (and I think it is) you might want to have your developers consider a fix for your next update.

    Thanks for your help!

    Dear Sudhanshu Dubey,

    Now I’m desperate.

Where do I find the CSS for the Tribe plugin?

Do I have to go to my child theme? Does it involve my hosting account?

    Help?

    Thanks!

I am sorry I was on off.

As I earlier said I need to know your FTP account to fix it. If you want to fix it my yourself then you need to go Plugin folder
    /root/wp-content/plugin/the event calendar

You just needs to find the css folder and write the above line I have mentioned to you.

    Thanks!

    Hi epolsby,

I know that switching themes on a live site can be difficult. Generally we assume that users also have a test site where they can make changes like that as they work. I see that Oxygen is indeed a very popular theme, and we will look into what is needed to improve compatibility.

    Best,
    Leah

    Thanks Leah!

That would be truly amazing. I’m not a proper developer so I don’t have a test site and I freak out every time I have to make changes to the CSS on my client’s website.

I really like Events Calendar and my client does too so if it worked all the time, I’d be over the moon.

    Hi epolsby,

I have ticketed this for testing. Please note that while we do plan to look into this, it may take a while before we have the bandwidth for proper testing. We will update you here as possible.

    Best,
    Leah
