    Hi All.

Last year I built a site for my non-techie sister and turned it over to her to then run. She was fine with it until she said she cannot figure out how to administer her events anymore. I thought it was user error of course – but now having checked I think she might be right – something has changed.

I have 5.9.5 but under ‘Events’ all I see is Settings and Help. Where are the pages to add new events and Locations etc ? My screen does not look like the screen shots supplied in the docs. The Plugin is running as you can see from this page

    https://www.petaluneherbals.com/events/

but I cannot find where to maintain any of the events or locations anymore – its very strange.

I know I may have missed something really obvious but I cannot see what it is.

  • Hello,

Have you Sister Installed any new plugins? or Did you perhaps accidentally changed the permissions? If you’re an Administrator, Make your you have checked all the permission under Events > Settings > User Permissions.

Another way is to try and reset timezone or reset settings. Events > Settings > Admin Tools (Advanced) Reset Timezon or Uninstall/Reset

I would suggest that you make a Site + Database backup before doing any Testing to avoid more issues.

What versions of WP and PHP do you also have? Can you make sure you’re using a PHP 7.1

AH ! You cracked it – No users had any permissions set at all ! So I checked all those boxes and the whole thing came back to life. Thanks so much !

I checked our PHP and its set to 7.0.30 and WP is 5.0.3

The site is hosted on Amazon Lightsail – I have no idea if I can update PHP or even how to do it.

Do u think I am ok with PHP 7.0 ?

My “event categories” has disappeared (and God know what else).

    Hello,

PHP 7.0 should be fine, However if you have PHP 7.1 that would be better.

@tony68 I would suggest opening a separate post for you issue so We could properly address it. For now I would suggest checking the permissions also. If possible please do explain it in more detailed also or provide some screenshots.
