Event map overview?

  • Hi

    I am helping the Norwegian Permaculture Association with their web site. One of the things they want is a map overview of the various events they have. I noticed they are using “The Events Calendar” (free version) and I am wondering if it is possible in some way with the plugin to add a map overview of events?

    I have tried the demo sandbox, and I am not sure if there is a place for adjusting a map etc.

    Ahh. I think this might cover it:
    https://demo.theeventscalendar.com/events/map/?hide_subsequent_recurrences=1

    It shows the events on one side and a map on the other side. With an overview of events.

    I also noticed that this is a part of the Pro package which for one site is $99 a year. (I assume one pays the $99 once a year for support and updates.)

    You are absolutely right on all counts:

    • The map view is what you need.
    • That view is part of the pro add-on
    • The yearly fee does provide you with support and updates

    That also technically means that if you “froze” your environment (including free version updates), you could continue to use your Pro add-on for life ??

    I can confirm a part of @geoffbel words : the “pro” add-on provides a map overview of events. You just need to have your own Google API key.

    But about the support I have to say that I’m very desappointed. No answer to date to my different tickets, only an automatic email telling me to ask my question again …

    I actually sent them an e-mail asking if they supported open source map providers that are more straight forward than Google Maps.

    One way they can better help support requests is by saying something like. Take a look at our FAQ then link to the specific answer that would probably cover the support request. Having a good FAQ would make it quicker for them to reply.
