I have honestly read all the information I can on this. I do not know what is causing it or how to fix.

    I have created 6 API’s None work.
    I have reset the program.
I have turned off all the other stuff.
I have switched to a plain theme.

The map pops up for a second then I get the map error box in place of the map.

Below there are some question. Topic Tags. I dont know what that is.
Support Question? This is a question about a problem. I dont know if it is a support question.

I have gone in and deleted all the locations. I have reinstalled the locations. The locations appear in a google map inside the CP or control panel but do not appear on the site. Dont know if that tells anyone something.

I am not part of support… just some dude.

So.. my first question is.. on your other website(s)
the balloon one, and the identtags… do you have the maps showing ?

If you don’t… in Google API.. in your “Dashboard” on the bottom..
API ( the library(s) ) do you have.
    Google Maps Geocoding API
    Google Maps JavaScript API
    Google Places API Web Service

On your Credentials.. make sure you have “ticked”
    HTTP referrers (web sites)

If you do… have the map showing on your other websites…
Go to THAT working Credentials (in Google API page)
and scroll down to the last item, where you put in the website URL..
Accept requests from these HTTP referrers (web sites)
and your HTTP referrers should look like this..
    *jodisskiskool.com/*

at least that “style” is working for me.

I have multiple websites on one Credential…

Make sure you clear your cache on the ski school website.. the old Credential code might be sticking.

On the ski school website.. there is an error showing that the Credential is the problem.

Probably best, in the long run, to delete those unused Credentials so you don’t get them all confused once you have one or two working.

    Hope that helps.

Thats fantastic. But… I will have to go real slow. Cause some of what you said I do not understand.

OK.. ON the balloon site I have a completly different map software from Brown Bear Software in Alaska. It does not have a location feature.

The map on the Ident Tags site is just a play calendar and I can not get it to work either.

Just went to my API credentials and entered the http thing. That may have been my problem since in the past I had *.jodisskiskool.com/* and www…. and had http:.. But I think my problem was the . between the * and the j.

Dont know how to clear the Cache on the site. Barly can figure out how to do that on a browser let alone on the site.

Delete the Unused Credentials. You mean in my Google API console thing?

I didn’t see your post where it said you have the Maps working on the Admin side of the website..

if that is the case I don’t know what the problem is

    Thank you for helping.

    Just to clarify…

If you are in your Admin..
You go in and, for example ->Edit -> thompson-compound
    You see a map.
Or similarly.. you are still in the Admin.. and view the Thompson Location..
    https://jodisskiskool.com/locations/thompson-compound/

    You see a map ?

On my end.. the public side.. not admin.. it shows that the credentials are wrong.

@thompsonaire Are you able to get maps working OK in admin?

    Thread Starter thompsonaire

    (@thompsonaire)

Yes, When I am in the admin area and I select a location from the dropdown it appears fine. When I select view or preview and it takes me to the front end or web side the location map pops up for about a second and then I get the error message.

    Oops! Something went wrong.
This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.

I do not knwo where or what the JavaScript console is. Even if I did I would not know what to do with it.

I would love any ideas or suggestions. PLEASE be very specific and basic. I have been using wordpress for a whole 4 days.

If things are loading in the admin area without a problem, the issue is almost certainly a conflict with your theme or another plugin.

To check if it is, can you test with all other plugins deactivated and while running the default WordPress theme?

    And welcome to WordPress ??

On my test site… I activated the theme you are using.
I also activated the photo album.. and the login in plugin you are using.
I already had contact form 7 running and full calendar.

I didn’t see any other plugins on your problematic site… that you are using.

With that said… All was good for me with the map showing on the public and admin side

Would love to see an actual screen shot of the map showing on your admin side.

    Thread Starter thompsonaire

    (@thompsonaire)

I have created a screen shot from the front (user) side and one of the Admin side. How do I get them to you? I do not see an option in this editor for uploading a photo.

    (@thompsonaire)

    OK. Here is the problem.

    I am using this.

    WP Photo Album Plus
    Activate | Delete

Easily manage and display your photo albums and slideshows within your WordPress site.
    Version 6.8.01.011 | By J.N. Breetvelt a.k.a. OpaJaap | View details

When I deactivate it the maps work. I will now try to REACTIVATE it and see if the maps still work.

    Thread Starter thompsonaire

    (@thompsonaire)

OK.. So that is deffinatly the problem.

When I turn on WP Photo Album Plus
    Activate | Delete

Easily manage and display your photo albums and slideshows within your WordPress site.

The maps fail. When it is turned off the maps work fine. So can anyone tell me how to solve? Is there a bit of PHP code I can use? If you have a solution go slow and step by step. I am clueless, useless, hopeless, and careless. I have no idea what I am doing.

Awesome dude… you are figuring it out..
I don’t know why on my test site I didn’t have problems with the plugin
    WP Photo Album Plus…

But with that said… it is most likely what is called a jquery conflict.

Don’t worry about the screen shot stuff.. you have diagnosed the jquery conflict.
    As far as I know…
Is there a bit of PHP code I can use?
There is a way that WP Photo Album Plus.. doesn’t get activate on the same pages as Events Manager.. unfortunately it can be, at times complicated.

I see you have posted at support WP Photo Album Plus and got a “hopefull” solution.
He stated.. “you can no longer use google maps to show where the photos have ben made.”

The maps being made by Events Manager are dynamic (on the fly) and are not stored anywhere. And shouldn’t, or need to be, in a photo album.
I am not sure if the author of WP Photo Album Plus understands this, and or I know all the functions of WP Photo Album Plus.. I just started playing with it.

    Hopefully the solution works..
If not we will keep trying…

Now I may be scolded here by the administrators of Word Press… and hopefully not violate terms of service here.. etc etc etc…

But… I think in life if you keep iterating ” I am clueless, useless, hopeless, and careless…..”
You are only setting yourself up for failure.

I don’t think there is any programmer out there that hasn’t come up against a brick wall and gotten bummed out.

I am far from any expert of any kind… I help out here because I learn.

I understand you are just trying to tell us you are a newbie.

I am glad you are having success… you will figure it out.

    I THANK you!

I built a bunch of websites using Front Page almost two decades ago. I did learn some about Html and Flash and a bunch about illustrator and that sort of stuff. So in many regards I am like a sleeping bear who can out of hibernation two decades later. Lots of stuff has changed. So that is why I feel rather clueless. I understand just enough to really make a mess of things. Your help is fantastic and does make me feel like I can somehow work this out.

My desire is that the Ski School can take photos of thier location and the students and be able to upload them from thier phones on location. That is why I chose the WPPG plugin. I like the ability to take a photo on my phone and upload directly to the site. If you know of another plug in that has that ability I will jump ship right away (Frankly I find the ADMIN side of WPPG a little confusing,

That begin said. Is there a setting some where that we can click OFF the location thing for the Photo Gallery?

Thank you for being such a good Samaritan. I hope someday I will know enough to help someone else as you have for me.
