Event Page no longer showing details such as featured image, description, time

I archived one of your two topics, since they may have a common root cause. I’d suggest that you add more details in this comment thread instead.

Another problem with the latest update is the Monthly View of events that used to display the events color-coded by category, and now suddenly the color-coding is gone and the formatting is bad.

One thing I notice is that you appear to be using a plugin that compresses and concatenates your CSS; you may want to make sure that your compressed CSS is refreshed.

It looks like you’re not using search-friendly permalinks; can you turn them on and check and see whether this is also a problem with search-friendly permalinks enabled? I’m not asking you to change how your site is set up, but it’s a different problem for me to explore depending on where that’s coming from.

Also, please let me know what version you updated from, if you can.

I disabled the Autoptimize plugin which optimizes CSS and cleared the cache. The monthly view is still the same, no category colors.

I turned on the “Use Pretty Permalinks for Events” option and the single-event page is now displaying everything (much more than before, so I’m updating the custom css with new classes to get it back to what was there before) but it’s definitely good for now, thank you for the advice! The only thing missing from the previous version is the color-coding of the title, that matched the category of each event, but that is not a necessity on this page. It would be nice to have the monthly view color-coded like it was before.

I assume the previous version that was active before the latest update was the one just preceding the current one, as the auto-updates were turned on.

I have the same problem with category colors disappearing when I updated to 3.5.1
If you could go back, it was much more customizable and clear.

@gaiaweb Interestingly, I notice that the article element isn’t present; the classes that handle category colors are on an article element that wraps the content. I’m wondering if something might be stripping those out on your site, or if there’s some combination of settings that is causing them not to show. Do the category colors show if you switch to a default theme?

The exact same thing is happening to me, as of a few hours ago. With pretty permalinks on, I get only the title (properly themed) and featured image on the event details page. With it turned off, I get the title (without theming), no featured image, and the ticket form appears, but still no other details.

Thank you so much for being such a responsive and dedicated developer – even though your coding did not cause this showstopping bug, you fixed it anyway, within hours! Update 3.5.4 completely resolved the issue for me. Thanks again.

Actually, it was me – there was a logic error (returning the wrong data type) that was causing templates not to process correctly in some scenarios. My Calendar has a lot of possible template routes, and I missed that one!

@joedolson Thank you for fixing this so quickly! It looks so much better now, and I am looking forward to exploring the new enhancements and see what else I can do with it!
