Event post in main loop

    I am very new to the whole WordPress thing. I am volunteering to revamp my son’s Boy Scout troop website.

    I am using this free theme. Unfortunately, this theme absolutely has no support. It is not even in the WP repo. And I have called the number listed several times but they did not return my call.

    This theme conflicts with at least 2 plugins (including TEC) that try to show the events as posts in the main loop (homepage).

    I know few older threads had the same issue and I have look at this Scout theme functions.php but the file looks so different than what it was discussed on other threads.

    Anyway can help me or point to me where to look?
