    Admin user as-well as anonymous event submissions won’t allow to upload an image.

    Allows user to browse for image, once selected from their local source it only shows name of image and no other options. After review no image attached.

    1 Checked permissions on server everything is the way it should be.
    2. We have Better WP Security plug-in installed.

    Has anyone encountered this issue and could help?

  • Are you seeing any kind of error messages? If you disable all other plugins (including Better WP Security) does the problem go away?

    No error message and yes I tried disabling the plugin but still didn’t work.

    One thing I just noticed, when uploading an image it goes to the feature image in my theme rather than in the body so it doesn’t show.

    So it’s uploading but going to the wrong place.

    One last thing, when I’m trying to post an image as an admin into a new event the upload media button doesn’t even work. I have to drag n drop in the body of the text field in order to have an image in the event post.

    Not sure if that helps.

    how about trying to temporarily revert back to default twenty twelve theme?

    Hello, I have the same issue exactly (with Frisco theme using buddypress).
    No error, file is present in upload folder but not displayed.

    Hey there, @angelo_nwl do you mean revert back to the twenty twelve theme then back to my premium theme? I work for a large non-profit organization and the theme we use has to remain. Is there no work around for this?

    The theme in question here is… Cosmos Theme – I love it.

    @sielwolf

    Does your theme have a featured image box in the sidebar and if so does your image populate there?

    Thanks.

    @trevy66
    Thanx for your reply and I m confused.
    The plugin work like a charm. I didn’t pay attention to the placeholder usage…
    Everything is all right !

    hi @trevy66

    yes, that’s what I mean; so we narrow down the issue and make sure that this isn’t cause by a theme or other plugins.

    since you cannot temporarily revert back to default theme you can try to click on Live Preview instead of activate or replicate your site on a local install which is more safer.

    (@trevy66)

    Thanks, I disabled all plug-ins, checked all permissions so it’s gotta be the theme pushing the images to the feature image box rather than in the body of the event. I did try your suggestion to just preview the theme and try to upload the image but it wouldn’t let me do so….. not sure why… maybe because it was in preview mode.

    Too bad, I really like the plug-in just need that darn image upload to work and we would upgrade to pro!

    Thanks for your help any other tips to try would be greatly appreciated I don’t want to give up yet.

    How do you normally upload images? Is that still working?

    Thread Starter trevy66

    (@trevy66)

    Yes… everything is working. the upload works it’s just not directing into the body of the event post. It appears in the featured image widget.

    Is this happening when you use the normal Add Media button? If it is, it sounds like your theme is overriding the default WordPress uploading process. In which case, your best bet is probably to contact the theme developer and ask them what it does and how to disable it.

    It’s possible you can see what’s happening and disable it by looking at the functions.php file of your theme.
