    I have two questions/issues…

    1) On my submit event page the “Details” section is not creating a text box. I can’t figure it out. Tried in both Chrome and IE. The page is https://getgolfed.com/event-directory/submit-event/

    2) I turned off text search on my search page but there is still a box at the top that I believe is a text search box. It could be my geolocation search box but my prefilled text of “Zip Code…” is not there. Also, the date search boxes do not generate a mini calendar to select dates from. And finally, the search button itself (the magnifying glass) just takes the user to the event directory…I don’t think it is doing a search function at all. My search page is https://getgolfed.com/event-directory/search-events/

Any idea what I’m doing wrong on these? I appreciate all the help!

  • Hi,

All these look like they could be caused by the same thing – a Javascript conflict. To test if that’s the case, try switching to the default theme and deactivating all other plugins.

If that fixes the problem, reactivate each in turn until you find the one that causes the problem.

Makes sense. I’m using Customizr theme currently.

I switched to Twenty Thirteen and it didn’t fix any of the issues posted above.

Deactivated all plugins except Events Manager and still have the same issues. The only plugins I even had active to begin with were W3 Total Cache, Google Libraries, WP Smush.it, and WP YouTube Lyte.

Just reinstalled and the problem seemed to be fixed. First plugin I reactivated was W3 Total Cache and it screwed up the “Details” box on the submit event page…no more text box there. Deactivated W3 and the text box is back. The search function seems to be fine so if I can just figure out how to get that text box active I should be good to go

edit: seems like the “text” tab works but the “visual” tab doesn’t let you do anything

hmm, seems to be a theme or plugin conflict as per at caimin suggested above? this is because it was working fine on my test sites using default theme.
