Event summary / truncate event description?

  • Is there a way to add an ‘Event summary’ field to every event? When listing events I want a sentence or two below each, to provide an overview about them.

    I have played with custom attributes but these do not appear to support textareas or wysiwyg editing.

    Alternatively, can I truncate the event description to (say) 20 words, and use that instead?

    have you tried using #_EXCERPT as placeholder then at your event description insert <!–more–> tag to which you want serve as your summary BUT take note that read more link is not added you can just add it manually.

    Thanks, I’d missed this – personally I prefer a separate field (a concise summary is different to the excerpt of a post) but this will do until I figure it out.
