Event Tickets: no confirmation emails on tickets purchased

Hello,
I am using Events Tickets. After purchasing a ticket to an event, the customer does not receives a ticket confirmation via email. It isn’t even sent, I have checked the send box in email. Oddly enough, when RSVP-ing to an event the email is send by the service and also received by the customer. I have tried to configure also the SMTP and still the mail when purchasing the ticket is not being sent.Based on my search of the web, I think the emails should be sent automatically as soon as the order status is marked as ‘Completed’, which it is.
Will be grateful for any help, since this makes it impossible to work with tickets, the customers need to get their tickets via mail or somehow.
