Event types not visible when creating events

I have enabled ‘event types’ and set some up in the back end but I cannot get them to display when creating an event in wordpress. I only see categories… and these are only single select option buttons (as per another ticket I have logged).

In wordpress preferences I can see that displaying ‘event type’ data is selected but yet no block for these is visible.
