    Hello,

When i create an event it shows all the information correctly, but without the template of my theme. If I uncheck the box “Enable template” it shows the event with my template but without times/date information nor event venue map. It does show the map using shortcodes. But I would like if it is possible, that the plugin do it alone.

I’ve seen this message in EO settings, but I am not sure what it means (For my english and technical knowledge limitations)

For each of the pages, the corresponding template is used. To use your own template simply give it the same name and store in your theme folder. By default, if Event Organiser cannot find a template in your theme directory, it will use its own default template. To prevent this, uncheck this option. WordPress will then decide which template from your theme’s folder to use.
    Archivos de eventos: archive-event.php
    Página de evento: single-event.php
Página de lugares de encuentro: taxonomy-event-venue.php
Página de Categoría de Eventos: taxonomy-event-category.php

    Could you help me? Thanks!

    Hi Alejandro1987,

The plug-in handles the templates for event pages by default. Unfortunately these templates are designed to be very generic, so that they work with as many themes as possible.

Disabling the template handling will mean that the plug-in does nothing. Its entirely down to WordPress and therefore your theme to serve up the templates. WordPress will choose the most appropriate template form your theme and use that. (As an aside, you don’t have to disable template handling for your theme templates to be used – your theme will just need to have the appropriate templates).

However, unless your theme has been designed for Event Organiser it won’t know how to display the dates. In this case you will need to create the templates yourself (you’ll need to have at least a working knowledge of PHP and HTML to do this).

In 3.0.0 there’ll be a third option, ‘compatibility mode’ which uses a page template from the theme for the event pages. Its currently in beta, so if you would like a copy please just get in touch: wp-event-organiser.com/contact. Release is expected mid January.

    In summary your options are:

    • Enable template handling
    • Create your own templates
    • Get 3.0.0 beta or wait for the release and use the ‘theme compatibility’ mode.

    Hope that helps!

I understand. I’ll wait for the 3.0.0 release. Meanwhile I’ll ask for someone’s help to create my own template.

Thanks a lot for the plugin.
