    Hey there,

in a standard theme is the next and previous button the next and previous publicationdate of a post.
Events are posted by date but for the reader is the next eventdate the important field.
Where can i found info to change the query parameter of the events. The post nav script is base on the get_previous_post and get_next_post functions which can only retrieve the adjacent post.

    best regards,
    rein

sorry I believed those are wordpress functions and you might need additional coding and hook into wp_query to make this work.

?? this must be a joke.

A essential function like next_event en previous_event is not in the event manager ? You have a single page with details about the event and there is no button for next and previous event?

    It is a joke, right?

    Hey Angelo,

that gives me the next publicationdate of a event and not when the next event is.

    best regards,
    rein

The issue with trying something like this is that those two functions can’t be used with custom post types, which is why they can’t be used with Events Manager.

The only solution would be to use custom coding.

is a next_event and previous_event something for a pro version?
is there a programmer out there who can make that custom coding for me?

Is it possible to have a look at this topic?

There’s no next / previous tags in the Pro version.

As far as I’m aware, the issue is that those tags don’t work with custom post types. As far as I’m aware, custom code is the only option here. Unfortunately, we don’t have any code snippets that can help with this.

Is this a solution? And what is the name of the eventdate Custom Field Name : em-date-start or em-date-input or … ?

I don’t see that helping because the issue, as far as I’m aware, is that the tags you want to use do not work with custom post types.

The plugin has a automatic re-order that works perfect in the back-end: the list in the admin is now correct sorted.
I used the custom field: “_event_start_date” and custom type: “date”

Is this something what is useful?

sorry I’m afraid that we are quite limited with regards to custom coding as per the support policy – https://eventsmanagerpro.com/support-policy/

    Hi Angelo,

the next and previous event is already solved. We added a new function to eventsmanager.

    best regards,

    Hi Rein,

I’ve been having the same issue. What function did you add? Which file did you add it to?

    Thanks

    Hoi,

there was no solution to find with a plugin so it is custom made for the client.

    best regards,
    rein
