Events Agenda Widget – Change Sort Order

The Events Agenda Widget creates the output I want in our sidebar, but I can’t control the sort order. I would like the dates in ascending order, but this widget doesn’t seem to give the configuration options for that.

Is there a way I can at least change the single php file for this widget and save it in my child theme to override the current descending order?
