    As of recently many of our sites are getting 404 errors for our events, even the ones that are built using a different combination of plugins. We have found a temporary fix which is resetting the permalinks every time this occurs, but as these are client sites we need this issue to stop occurring. Has anyone found a fix for this or a potential cause?

    We are running the latest version of The Events Calendar (6.1.2.2).

    I’m sorry to hear that you’re having an issue. I am here to assist you with this matter.

    Could you possibly have a caching plugin or server-side caching? If so, it might be helpful to temporarily deactivate them and see if there are any changes.

    Additionally, could you please let me know your hosting provider and how frequently you experience 404 errors after flushing your permalinks?

    We are using wpengine and the 404 errors are only on the events unfortunately. We have been in touch with them and they added the following cache exclusions:

    path: ^/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/(.*).js

    path: ^/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/(.*).css

    path: ^/wp-json/?

    path: ^/event/?

    We also use WProcket to help with site speeds. Everything was working with no issues for a long time before this so I feel it may be related to a recent update.

    We have a recent forum thread posted by a helpful user that has found a workaround for the 404s/permalink issues that have been affecting users with WP Engine. Take a look at the thread and try the suggested rewrite rules:
