The site where I have Events Calendar installed is running php 5.6.

The admin area seems to be broken. I can enter text in the title area and in the main text box. However, I cannot switch to visual editor.

The date picker does not work. I cannot add a location, select a saved location, add an organizer, use a saved organizer. So basically it’s totally broken.

This is a client site and a non-technical person needs to be able to add new events for their organization.

I am using the Enfold theme (which claims to be compatible). Since this is a live site for my client, I tested rolling back to WordPress default theme 2017 on another beta server with same software. This did NOT correct the issue. The same issues exist there also, so there seems to be something that got broken with a recent update.

Thanks in advance for updating your plugin so its working again. ??
Any suggestions you can offer to get things resolved are very welcome.

Here’s a screenshot of the top-level error that shows up in dev console.

  • Hi @rlhinirv57

Did the same thing occur when disabling other plugins?

Hopefully we can get this resolved soon.

    Thanks,
    Courtney

    Hello Courtney,

Yes, I disabled the other plugins and reverted to the default WordPress theme, to no avail. Not sure if this is a theme issue or something that doesn’t work due to a WordPress update.

    Thanks!

    Hello Events Calendar support team,

Below is the error message that seems to be at the root of the problem:

Hope that this will assist in getting that bug resolved.

I have reverted back to 4.3.5 for one site and that seems to work, albeit with less features than the most recent version that did work. However, I would like to update to the current version as soon as these issues are fixed; hope the next update corrects all the admin issues.

Hello Modern Tribe, Is there any intention to get the Events Calendar plugin working again?

I have it installed on several client sites and just need to know either way, so I can move forward with something that will work for my non-technical clients to update their calendars.

    Thanks

    Sorry for the delay, @rlhinirv57.

The problem we have is that we don’t see the same thing and aren’t seeing an influx of comparable reports from other users – so it has all the hallmarks of being a theme or plugin conflict yet it sounds like you can replicate the same problem using only our plugin and a default theme, with nothing else activated.

Unfortunately that makes it pretty hard for us to isolate the issue and fix it. Are you in a position to try things out on a clean site and do you see the same thing there?

Hi, we are having this same problem… Same inability to add location or organizer and I see the same error as quoted above. I have tried on 3 different sites and followed the “Testing for conflicts” procedure, switching to Twenty Sixteen and disabling all plugins except The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO. I was searching around for possible solutions and found this thread, so I wanted to let you know we seem to have the same issue. Please let me know if there is any additional information that would be helpful. Thanks!

    Hi @rachaelmkelly,

Thanks for taking the time to chime in here–I’m so sorry to hear that you’re experiencing this issue on your site! Since this thread has become somewhat out of date, would you mind taking the time to open a new thread with the details of your problem and the troubleshooting steps you’ve attempted? (If you’re able to include a link to a page that shows the error message in question, even better!) We’ll follow up as soon as we can to continue the conversation there! ??

    Thanks much!
