Since activating The Events Calendar plugin, the title of my site’s main RSS feed is “Upcoming Events.” Same with any feeds for post date and category or tag terms. I am using WordPress 6.1, the Twenty Twenty-One theme, and no plugins. I do not have a link to the site as it is a test site on a private server.

    HI @jjbte

Thanks for reaching out; I’ll be happy to help!

Can you share a screenshot or the URL to your site so that I can take a closer look at this for you, please?

I could provide you with some CSS that would remove this for you. Alternatively, you can try assigning a different template under Events>settings> display> templates and see if that resolves your issue.

    Hi @chikaibeneme,

Thank you for your reply. I don’t have a good screenshot as I do not have a feed reader extension installed in my browser. I am just looking at the raw RSS code that comes up when I go to https://www.mywebsite.com/feed/. The feed’s title tag looks like this:

    <title>Upcoming Events – My Website</title>

If I deactivate The Events Calendar plugin, the feed’s title tag is:

    <title>My Website</title>

I am using the default events template and Tribe Events Styles, but there’s no difference if I change to the default page template and Skeleton Styles.

I suspect this has something to do with the build_title() function in the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/Views/V2/Template/Title.php. I have tried removing some of the title filters by hooking a function to the rss2_ns action, but no luck.

I’m having the same issue with my page titles being replaced with Event code and only if I deactivate the plugin do they return back to normal.

Currently my titles are all reading “Events for November 2022” when it should read “Council Staff” or “Emergency Management” for example.

I have tried changing the template to something other than Events Template but all that does is update the Events Calendar page and still keeps the titles reading “Events for November 2022” on normal pages throughout the website.

Can you please tell me how we can fix this issue as its becoming a huge issue for our client and only happened when the calendar updated to 6.0 recently.

This is also happening to me. I’m using BeTheme. Happens with all plugins turned off except the free version of The Events Calendar (plus paid aggregator).

Tried doing updates in various combos, as I also upgraded WordPress Core and the theme. Happened started when updated from 6.0.1.1 (this works fine).

6.0.3.1 and 6.0.4 both have the problem.

All pages, posts & archive pages that display the title that is automatically generated by the theme now say “Events for November 2022”. It did not change the title of the main blog page, or the main Events page.

Changing the events template did not fix it.

It does not happen on another site that uses the Astra Theme with page & post templates by Elementor.

Hi everyone, I wasn’t able to replicate the issue here, however, I am curious about the behavior and I’d investigate more of this. For now, you could downgrade v6.0.1 as a workaround suggested on this thread.

    Hang in there.

    Best,

Hi @jjbte, writing back to you here. Does the issue persist with the latest version of the plugin? It would be good to try and test it out and see if that fixes the issue here. To be safe, we’d recommend conducting these tests on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website.

Let us know how it goes.
