Events Calendar Suggestions

I’ve been playing with several Events Calendar plug-ins on a site that I’m building for a week, now, and can’t find one that has all the features that I want, built-in.

I would love a calendar that can do the following:
-have a calendar view with the event details in mouseover/popups/tooltips.
-have public and private (logged-in users can see) events. (EME does this well)
-have categories and a way for users to easily see events from one or several categories.

Seems like Creative Gray Matter comes close, but I don’t know if the public & private is possible, haven’t installed it yet. I have a member access plugin installed that does this for my pages and posts, but I didn’t like that the event titles still showed up in searches and in the widgets with “The Events Calendar.” I tweaked the settings on that plugin so it no longer uses the excerpt for non-members, but simply omits member only posts, but I haven’t gone back and reinstalled The Events Calendar, since then, and I didn’t have the category requirements, then, so I don’t even know if it could do any of that. If I could get Events Manager Extended’s calendar to look nicer, have more display and calendar navigation options and have popups with the event details, I’d go with it.

I feel like I’m going in circles, so I thought I’d ask before I continue. Any tips?
