    Hi all,

i read lots of articles and used all my google-fu on this topic – but still no clue why it isn’t working the way it should (as my understanding):

I did enable the “Include events in main blog loop”-option. Since I’m using a static page as homepage i also set a “posts page” and on this particular posts page, the events are added to the normal posts. That’s expected behavior (except for the sorting). So far so good.

The downside is, the adding doesn’t work anywhere else. I’m on Calendar 6.6.2 and WordPress 6.6.1 using the theme “OceanWP” in combination with elementor. I also tried it with twenty-twenty-four theme but still no luck.

I tried the “display posts”-plugin and its [display-posts]-shortcode, I tried it with the standard-blocks “query loop” “latest posts” “posts list” etc. – no luck

I’m out of ideas now. Maybe anyone can help with this?

    Thank you!

    Hi @massl ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Just to be clear, are you trying to display posts and events altogether on a page other than the main blog loop?

Maybe I got the concept wrong. But as I understood it so far:
    – The “posts page” simply displays the blog loop.
    – There are several plugins and blocks that also display the blog loop, but I can still display the content wherever I want.

So for me the answer to your question is “no”, because I am trying to display the blog loop with the intention that the events will be displayed next to the blog posts. But I want to display the blog loop via plugins or blocks.

    Hi @massl ,

Thank you for your message and the clarification.

The intention of the Include events in main blog loop setting in Events -> Settings -> General (tab) -> Viewing (section) is to allow for your events to be included in your WordPress Posts Page (otherwise known as Blog Loop) because by default, events, being custom post_types, are excluded from it. So, when you have that setting enabled, the events you created will be included in your WordPress Posts Page alongside your regular posts.

The above functionality, however, is different from the Query Loop, which I believe is what you’re referring to here. Some themes and/or plugins may offer a query loop functionality but may not have full support for The Events Calendar event posts queries.
